Brought to you by the BDA, this podcast series explores the unlimited, unexpected and maybe even unknown opportunities that qualifying as a dentist open up to you. Join our host, Andrea Ogden GDP, as she chats to dental professionals from across the UK who discuss the paths they took that changed the course of their careers. Over six episodes we cover the topics that so many young dentists and undergraduates told us you wanted. We discuss everything from specialty training, starting a business, mixing up your career with non-clinical roles to undertaking FD/VT training, working with kids, the CDS and within prisons and even leaving UK clinical dentistry entirely. These are frank, honest and inspiring conversations that reveal just how much flexibility, opportunity and variety there is within the world of dentistry.

Texas is currently the fastest emerging state in regards to new food brands, food manufacturing, food science, diversity in foods and dishes, farming, and helpful networks for the food community. Because of laws, taxes, efforts and income levels, many places like California and New York are looking to shift their attention and efforts to Texas.

We have new brands, new restaurants and new festivals all dedicated to sharing their food with the rest of the country. We have grants, scholarships and investment groups pumping tons of money into the food scene. And to add some more icing to the cake, we have an ever-growing diverse culture that only helps bring new ideas to the table.

Becoming a great leader isn’t easy. It’s not because people don’t want to lead well; it’s just that there need to be clearer examples of what good leadership really looks like beyond fancy titles and corner offices. You see, the word ‘leadership’ has kind of lost its meaning for a lot of folks. It’s often associated with those who were promoted after being really good at their old jobs, but not necessarily those who are good at leading people—the kind of leaders organizations really need. And to make matters worse, most companies don’t do enough to help new leaders develop their skills. That’s why bad leadership is such a big problem, costing companies billions of dollars every year. But here’s where our show comes in: we’re creating a space where leaders can share their real-life experiences—the good, the bad, and the ugly—and celebrate their progress. That’s what makes Conversations That Matter special! Our show is all about digging into the heart of leadership and personal growth. We talk to all kinds of leaders—people who’ve been there, done that, and have the scars to prove it. Our goal is to inspire and empower you to be the kind of leader people actually want to follow. So, whether you’re in the boardroom or the break room, whether you’re a CEO or just starting out, our guests have stories and advice that can help you become a better leader. As your host, I believe in the power of storytelling to connect, inspire, and drive change. And I’m here to help build a community of leaders who are passionate about making a positive impact in their workplaces and beyond. If you’ve ever wondered how exceptional leaders earned their distinction, I invite you to subscribe to our channel and learn from the game-changing leaders revolutionizing their fields and making every conversation count.

#ElderWisdom | Stories from the Green Bench

    by

    Since Oct 13, 2020 14:23 UTC

Kathy Buckworth & Evelyn Brindle host the Stories from the Green Bench podcast, a virtual place to share, learn, grow, laugh and more in conversations with her co-host and a variety of guests. The Green Bench is a symbol of elder wisdom. Physically or virtually, the bench invites us all to sit alongside a senior, share a conversation, or give and offer advice. It challenges the stigma seniors face; the ageism still so prevalent in society. It reminds us of the wealth of wisdom our elders offer and in doing so, helps restore them to a place of reverence. ”The greatest untapped resource in Canada, if not the world, is the collective wisdom of our elders.” -Ron Schlegel Your seat on the green bench is ready and waiting. Hosts 2020-21 – Erin Davis & Lloyd Hetherington 2022 – Erin Davis & Doug Robinson 2023-24 – Kathy Buckworth & Evelyn Brindle
